The NHS Health Checks are totally free for anyone living or is registered with a GP surgery within Islington. The programme is a national service which assesses a person's risk of developing heart attack, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease, The check provides advice and support on how a person may prevent or reduce their risk and live a healthier life. It will measure things such as your blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar.
Following the check, you will receive a detailed report of your results with personalised advice about what you can do to stay healthy.
You are eligible for the Health Check if:
- You are an Islington resident and/or have a GP registered in Islington.
- You are between 40-74 years old.
- You have not had a full NHS Health Check within the last 5 years.
- You have not been diagnosed or taking medication for Heart Disease or Heart Failure, Stroke or TIA (mini stroke), High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Kidney Disease, Heart Attack, Arterial - Disease or Diabetes.
